Dual Enrollment

Each year, Peak offers 2 Dual Enrollment classes (Intro to Sustainability and English Comp 1001) as part of the Div IV core curriculum.

In addition, starting in the second semester of 9th grade, you can elect to take a placement test and enroll in a Colorado Mountain College elective class in the Fall and Spring semesters (interest dependent).

If a student took CMC electives each semester starting in the Spring of 9th grade, they would graduate with a total of 27 college credits!

AP Prep

The Peak School is an AP testing site. While The Peak School does not offer AP classes, we do believe in the strength of our curriculum and will have students who opt into taking the AP exam at the end of their Peak course. Students are responsible for independently preparing for the exam and are encouraged to reach out to their teachers for support.

Spring of 2025: Peak offered 12 AP exams!

In the past five years, The Peak School’s average score on all of the AP exams has been higher than a 3.

“AP Exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5. Many U.S. colleges grant credit and/or advanced placement (that means they let you skip the equivalent course once you get to college) for scores of 3 and above” (College Board).

Fun Fact: We had a student (class of 2017) take 23 AP tests over their time at Peak. They ended up receiving 17 5’s, which is the highest score one can receive, five 4’s, and one 3. All passing grades. While this is not the norm, it does show what a Peak student can achieve within our curriculum.
